Welcome from the Chief

On behalf of the proud and committed men and women of The Enterprise Police Department (EPD), I would like to welcome you to the EPD website. We invite you to take advantage of our website, to learn about information and activities provided by the City of Enterprise and the Enterprise Police Department.
The EPD thrives on community involvement, and we believe this is accomplished and furthered by effective communication with our residents and the general public. We are available to answer any questions or provide support where we are needed. The EPD believes strongly in the spirit of Enterprise and strives to make our city the best place to live, work, and play. It is an honor to work with EPD Officers and civilians, and I am proud to serve as the Enterprise Police Chief.

About the Chief

In 1996 after graduating from Argonaut High School in Jackson, California, Chief Michael Moore moved to Enterprise, Alabama to be closer to his grandparents, whom he frequently visited while growing up. That same year, Chief Moore joined the Army Alabama National Guard 217TH Military Police Company and attended Basic and Advanced Individual Training at Ft. McClellan, AL. In 2000 he transferred to the Air Force National Guard and served in the 280TH CBCS Dothan, AL, before being transferred to the 187TH Security Forces Squadron Montgomery, AL in 2006. There he was promoted to Master Sergeant (E-7) before leaving the Air Force to attend Army Officer Candidate School at Alabama Military Academy (Class 58) Ft. McClellan, AL. He continued his leadership training by attending the Army Military Police Basic Officers Leadership Course in 2017 (Class 5-17) in Ft. Leonard Wood, MO. Chief Moore served as the Executive Officer for the 1165TH MP Company in Brewton, AL before returning to the 187TH SFS Air National Guard to serve as the Operations Officer at the rank of Captain. Chief Moore has served the Alabama State National Guard for 27 years.

In 1998 Chief Moore received his start in civilian law enforcement at Daleville Department of Public Safety and attended the Police Academy at Alabama Criminal Justice Training Center in Selma, AL. He was promoted to Sergeant before being hired by Enterprise Police Department in 2001. Chief Moore was fostered through the ranks in Enterprise Police Department, serving as a Field Training Officer, Criminal Investigator, Sergeant, Lieutenant, and promoted to Administration Captain in 2014. In 2018 he was transferred to command the Patrol Division where he remained until his appointment to Interim Chief of Police in September 2020; in March 2021, he was appointed Chief of Police by the city council and mayor.

Chief Moore has graduated from Troy University with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice with a minor in Sociology. In 2019, he was given the honor to attend the FBI National Academy (Class 278), where he took numerous graduate- level courses on leadership in Law Enforcement. He has received extensive Advanced Crash Reconstruction and Investigations training through the Institute of Police Technology and Management.

Chief Moore has been married to his most prominent supporter, Crystal since 1999, after meeting on a blind date. Since their marriage, they have raised three children: daughter Peyton who is a first-grade teacher and married, Emma who is a Senior in the Troy University Nursing Program, and Ashton who is a Senior at Enterprise High School and is working towards obtaining his Airframe and Power Certificate through Wallace College. With the full support of his family, his friends, coworkers, and the community, he hopes to continue to serve the citizens of Enterprise for years to come.
